How To Speak At SMX Advanced 2008
Want to speak at our SMX Advanced conference happens in Seattle this June 3 & 4. Here’s everything you need to know about doing it!
Session Pitches Accepted: March 5 - March 11
From March 5 through March 11, I’m accepting pitches for sessions at SMX Advanced. The audience is advanced search marketers, the type of people who may feel they’ve seen it all and done it all. We’re looking for sessions that will surprise them, open eyes and give even the advanced search marketer something new to try, some profound “I didn’t know that moment.”
Up for the challenge? Then submit your session idea here. The pitch should be about 2 to 7 paragraphs long. We don’t need an essay, just a general idea of what the session would be about, along with some specifics about what you might cover. You can suggest other potential speakers, but that’s not required.
Also send some background about yourself, your company and the type of work you do. We don’t need a resume nor a lengthy bio. Just a few sentences to describe yourself.
If you’re accepted, you’ll get a pass to the entire SMX event. Travel and accommodation are not provided.
Agenda Posted: March 17
We expect to post the SMX agenda by March 17. If you were accepted to speak as part of the session pitch process, you MIGHT be notified by this time. If not, hang in there until speaking openings are posted.
Speaking Pitches Accepted: March 26 - April 30 (or so)
On March 26, our speaking pitch form will open. You’ll be able to see all available sessions that have speaking openings and pitch for those spots. Pitch as soon as possible. Once we have enough good speakers, we’ll close a session to further pitches. By April 30, we expect to have all sessions filled. But as said, don’t wait until then, as some sessions will close earlier.
